Past Simple e Past Continuous
Il Past Simple è il tuo migliore amico per raccontare cosa è successo. Si forma con la seconda forma del verbo (went, saw, did) e lo usi quando vuoi dire che qualcosa è finito completamente nel passato.
Pensa a frasi come "Yesterday I went to school" o "Last week she visited her grandmother". È perfetto per raccontare una storia: descrive gli eventi uno dopo l'altro, come in un film.
Il Past Continuous invece ti serve per dire cosa stava succedendo in un momento preciso. Si forma con was/were + verbo con -ing. È fantastico per creare atmosfera: "The rain was falling and people were running for shelter".
Trucco: Spesso li usi insieme! "I was studying (continuous) when my friend called (simple)". Il continuous descrive lo sfondo, il simple l'evento principale.
